Before the marriage and the headlines, she was Erika Jones. She earned a finance degree from Hampton University in 1994 and pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha there, the same line as Gizelle Bryant. Their friendship goes back to those college years.

That December, Bryant told the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion that the brand’s manufacturer had closed during the pandemic. “My manufacturer shut down,” she said. “And it’s been tough, to be honest with you.” Co-star Karen Huger put it more flatly on a talk show appearance, saying the line had been liquidated. Here is the detail almost no one has picked up. The company she runs today does not use the Liles name.

In the spring of 2022, she posted that she had decided to end her marriage. Her status since then has stayed unclear in public. A 2024 profile of Kevin still referred to her as his wife, and his Wikipedia page listed the couple as married into late 2025. No outlet has reported a finalized divorce. In April 2025 she announced a new venture as Erika Jones. The firm is Ford Jones Equities, a real estate developer focused on affordable housing in New York. She teamed up with her uncles, Tony and Ron Jones, who run a general contracting company called Jones Group. From the announcement:

“This collaboration with Jones Group is both personal and strategic for Ford Jones Equities. As a member of a long-standing community family, I’m proud to partner with my uncles, Tony and Ron, and the Jones Group team.”

There are no cameras on this one. The company is barely a year old. It runs under her own name, in an industry she picked.

The Kevin Liles lawsuit and its outcome

Any honest account of her recent years has to address the headlines around her husband. In February 2025, a former Def Jam assistant filed a civil suit accusing Kevin Liles of sexual harassment and assault dating to his years running the label in the early 2000s. He denied every allegation and, in a statement to Variety, said he would clear his name.

That November, as Rolling Stone reported, a federal judge dismissed the case with prejudice, ruling that a 2005 settlement the woman had signed with Universal Music Group barred her from bringing the new claims. The ruling ended the matter. Erika had announced her separation roughly three years before the suit was filed.
