The publication launched in June 2026. Ethan Holt, a journalist with over eleven years across regional and national newsrooms, started it and runs it as founder, lead journalist and editor-in-chief. Meet Ethan. He built his career in local publishing across the North East before moving into national and international coverage, which means the editorial instincts running this publication come from a specific place: newsrooms where you learn to report properly because the people you are writing about live down the road.
Our coverage is broad by design. Celebrity news and entertainment form the core of what we publish, spanning personal affairs, celebrity profiles, showbiz, relationships and pop culture. Around that sits sport and match analysis, technology, world affairs, UK and US current affairs, politics, aviation, gaming and breaking news. News does not stay in one lane and neither do we.
Stories on The Main Story are sourced and edited before they run. We do not lift quotes from other outlets and pass them off as our own reporting. We do not treat a tweet as a source. We do not publish first and check later. Those are not rules written for an About page.
